Thoughts of the day

I drove to IHOP at 8am. On the way there, I was stopped at a red light in the left lane. Then a car pulled up next to me on my left. And I said to her, "That's not a lane.." .. I don't think she heard me.

Driving back, a car tried to switch into the lane to their right. While I was there. Idiot. Came within two or three inches of my car. Had to stop and let the idiot cut me off. I should've honked to express my discontent.

Drove to Wal-Mart to get gas. Was watching my fuel gage the whole time. The empty light came on. And I thought, "Stupid machine. If you're low on energy, don't turn on more lights!"

Why did it cost $56 to fill up my gas tank? That's ridiculous.

Went to Hungry Howie's to get some pizza Friday night. It was hot inside the place, so I went outside to wait for my pizza to be made. Dude in a car calls me over. And I figure he looked harmless enough, so I went to hear what he wanted to say. He gave a story involving Dallas and San Antonio and going to or from one of those and his wife being pregnant. And of course in this desperate situation, he needed money that he would assuredly pay back when he got to where he was going. Unfortunately, I honestly didn't have any cash on my person. He didn't seem to believe me, and I said that I only had a credit card. So he asked if I could get him some gas, the gas station being conveniently across the street. And thus I meet him there and pay to fill his tank. Before it's done fueling, I tell him I'm going to wait for my pizza, and return to Hungry Howie's. Instead of telling him where he can send back the money, I tell him it's fine and just go. As much as I like to help people in need, I don't entirely trust them to know where I live. And not until today when I filled up my car did I realize how charitable I was that night. No more good deeds for a month.

Pot of stuff.

For some reason, I decided to actually cook something tonight. It's been a long time since I've gone beyond frying an egg or baking some chicken. Probably about a year since I've actually had to chop stuff.

So, I went to HEB to get ingredients and started right when I got back.
No recipe, no measurements, no experience.
Beef chopped and soaked in a mixture consisting mostly of rice wine. Also some soy sauce, worcestershire sauce, and olive oil.
Pot on stove, turned to medium. Add water. Then these ingredients as they are cleaned and chopped, placed in pot in following order: 2 carrots, 4 red potatoes, 9 mushrooms, half a yellow onion, 3 cloves of garlic. Add beef with sauce, tomato sauce, ketchup, creole seasoning, jalapenos, and some corn starch. Turn to low until done.

Tasty.
